Bulkley Richardson Announces the Passing of Jeffrey E. Poindexter
It is with deep sadness that Bulkley Richardson announces the passing of Jeffrey E. Poindexter, our trusted colleague and dear friend.
Jeff was a highly regarded litigator, but he was so much more than an attorney. To us, he was family.
Jeff graduated from Western New England University, summa cum laude, in 1991 and earned a J.D. from Georgetown University in 1994. He joined Bulkley Richardson in 1995, achieved partner status in 2002 and most recently, served as co-chair of the firm’s Litigation Department. A fierce advocate for his clients, Jeff was trusted counsel to many clients over the three decades that he practiced law, earning him the reputation of a prominent player in the Springfield legal community and beyond.
Born in Springfield, Jeff remained engaged and committed to serving the community where he was raised. Supporting initiatives that promoted diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as social justice, Jeff served in leadership roles at the Greater Springfield YMCA, Springfield Boys & Girls Club, Springfield Technical Community College and Hampden County Lawyers for Justice, among others. He was active in Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity and its Springfield chapter, Beta Sigma Boulé, a national fraternity of African American professionals and the first Greek-letter organization to be founded by African American men.
Jeff always went out of his way to be there for the people around him and his absence will be a tremendous void. Uplifting us with his humor and quick wit, it is that mischievous grin, that robust personality, and that authentic friendship we will miss most.
