Intellectual Property Attorney

Description: 

Bulkley Richardson is seeking an Intellectual Property (IP) Attorney registered to practice in patent cases before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) with at least 5 years of experience in patent and other aspects of IP law.  Relevant experience may include:

  • Prosecution of trademark and patent registration and protection;
  • Management of trademark and patent portfolios, and familiarity with portfolio management systems/software;
  •  Negotiating and drafting IP licenses, assignments and other IP-related agreements;
  • Conducting IP audits;
  • Providing IP support for complex business agreements, including performing IP due diligence;
  • Handling IP infringement issues, including drafting and responding to cease-and-desist letters;
  • Assisting with litigation of IP related matters;
  • Working within the USPTO;
  • Advising clients regarding the protection, management, and monetization of IP.
Qualifications: 
  • Juris doctorate from an accredited law school;
  • Admission to the Mass. Bar and the U.S. Patent Bar;
  • 5+ years of experience with patent and other IP related matters;
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and positively with others;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Commercial acumen.
