Litigation Paralegal

Bulkley Richardson is seeking a Litigation paralegal for its Springfield office.  Full‑time hours from 8:30 to 5:30, OT required at times for this non-exempt position.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and research tools such as Westlaw.  Must possess excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.  Multitasking and teamwork are necessary.  Enter time daily, to meet the firm’s minimum requirement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with attorneys on a daily basis
  • Preparing and compiling discovery responses
  • Assisting in review of electronic and hardcopy documents including redaction
  • Assisting in obtaining, monitoring and managing discovery
  • Scheduling and coordinating depositions
  • Assisting in preparing legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints and legal memoranda
  • Assisting in trial preparation
  • Preparing and organizing trial exhibits, trial binders, and exhibit lists
  • Assisting with hearings, trial, mediation, settlement, and arbitration
  • Maintaining and managing document databases for electronic documents
  • Research using Westlaw, Practical Law, and other online resources

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program
  • 3 years’ experience in supporting attorneys whose practice focuses on litigation.

Qualified candidates will be highly motivated, possess strong communication skills and client service skills. Must have a strong work ethic, team orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and to meet deadlines effectively.
