Real Estate Attorney

Description:
Bulkley Richardson, a thriving and dynamic firm of 40+ lawyers based in Springfield, Massachusetts, is seeking a Real Estate attorney with 5+ years of experience to handle all legal aspects of real estate transactions. There is a potential succession planning component in this role as the right candidate may eventually fill a key leadership position in our Real Estate Department.
Principal Responsibilities Include:
- Consulting with clients and other attorneys in the firm regarding the real estate issues and aspects of larger transactions;
- Representing clients in the acquisition and disposition of real estate interests;
- Negotiating, drafting and reviewing purchase and sale contracts, leases, assignments and other real estate-related agreements;
- Dealing with land use and zoning issues;
- Dealing with title insurance issues and coverage;
- Examining titles and surveys, and dealing with issues as they arise;
- Assisting other attorneys with the real estate aspects of larger complex transactions, including due diligence and real estate financing issues, as well as estate planning matters; and
- Advising clients with respect to property development and new construction.
Qualifications:
- Juris doctorate from accredited law school;
- Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts;
- 5+ years of commercial real estate experience;
- Thorough understanding of applicable laws, regulations and title standards;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Flexibility and adaptability, with ability to multi-task;
- Time-management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines;
- Superior communication skills and interpersonal skills.
